27.9 (Pronounced Twenty-Seven-Nine) is a luxury brand founded in 2018 in Nashville, TN by Tyrone Carreker. The ambition of 27.9 is to be the “suit and tie” of fragrance. Our mission, in conjunction with the use of materials of the highest quality, is to present fragrances that exude exclusivity, visually mimic high fashion and translate olfactory sensory into a full experience. Every scent is inspired and chosen strictly by emotional response. “What does this feel like?” as opposed to “ What does this smell like?”. Every candle is hand poured, wicked, and labeled in Nashville, TN by a team of artisans and perfectionists. We also provide an eco friendly, clean burn with our coconut wax blend and lead-free cotton wicks. Through meticulous attention to detail and creativity, we strive to not only build trust but a bond with our consumer base. Quality over everything.
TYRONE CARREKER, FOUNDER + CEO
A Detroit native, Tyrone was always known to dive head first into new creative ventures. Nearing the end of his college tenure, Tyrone first picked up a guitar at the age of 22, just months shy of completing his degree in mathematics and statistics at the University of Michigan. As fate would have it, and against his family’s better judgement, Tyrone chose to follow the path of music—serendipitously meeting and befriending fellow budding musician Sam Hunt in Nashville, TN. One thing led to another, and the guys found themselves touring the country, one less-than-fantastic-smelling green room and hotel room at a time—circumstances which ultimately presented Tyrone with the choice of purchasing candle after candle after candle, or learning how to craft his own. In 2018, Tyrone founded Golden Candle Co. and quickly discovered his potential as a successful perfumer and candle maker. With an affinity for luxury and style, and a desire to represent the newer but higher end demographic of Nashville, Tyrone is proudly reintroducing his company as 27.9, striving for a sleek, sophisticated, and enticing experience through fragrance.
